Outlook DPI scaling is one of the most common problems encountered when developing emails and supporting Outlook (alongside the 1px horizontal line issue). The severity of impact caused by DPI scaling depends on what you’re trying to accomplish with the email’s design/layout/structure, and how the email is coded.

At Litmus Live Boston and San Francisco this year, I gave a talk on correcting Outlook DPI scaling issues, while also looking at how it applies to Hybrid development, and touched on some other aspects it impacts that are common in email development today.

Keep Your Browser Up-To-Date!

The web, and technology in general, is changing rapidly. Shiny new technologies are emerging, updates are more frequent, and it’s a whirlwind of activity that we are all trying to keep up with.

One piece of technology that is always improving is the internet browser. Though there’s a handful to choose from – Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, and others – many people stick with what’s pre-loaded onto their PC or Mac, and don’t bother to look at what is just out there.

And unfortunately, overtime old browser versions become out-dated, and they are unable to support the new web technologies that are available to users today. A specific one that comes to mind is Internet Explorer 6.

Product Review: 2010 Macbook Pro

As you may know, I recently bought my first Macbook Pro a few weeks ago. I have now had plenty of time to learn how to use it, change all the settings the way I like it, and get everything transferred over from my old laptop. I thought it would be a good idea to give a review for those of you who may be considering making the move to a Mac for the first time.

I made the move to a Mac for a few reasons. One was I really need a new laptop. My previous laptop is 3 years old and I desperately needed something way more up to date, something that is more suitable for my needs. Another is because Macs are basically the norm in the graphic and web design world, and as a lover of technology, to be honest I couldn’t be out of the loop. But don’t worry you PC fans, I still have my good old desktop, which I believe is about 5.5 years old now. I also wanted a Mac just to try something different!
